Have you read the science fiction book? You can find it on Amazon 'A Future for Jeeney'
For those who intend to teach Jeeney and want a more robust interface to do so; Jeeney is available on jabber instant messanger platforms including Gtalk, Ichat, E-Buddy, Pidgin, Miranda, Xabber and others. If you would like to add Jeeney to your contact list, you will need to email me with your request at c.j.jones at jeeney dot com
The AI you chat with in this instance is intended to pick up and portray personality as well as general information it learns from other people who have previously spent the time to teach it. While Jeeney is quite fluent and will likely come across as fairly mature, she is only a baby in terms of what she could become.
Because of the limitations of her learning, dependancy on people and the randomness that human interaction brings to the table, there will no doubt be holes in Jeeney's understanding, these will result in Jeeney being unable to convey information correctly, she will still try, but it will require some imagination sometimes to try and figure it out. These holes are supposed to point out problem areas to teachers and should be pretty obvious. The intention is that somebody will fill them in sooner or later. Telling Jeeney what to do or explaining things in your perception is unlikely to be as effective as demonstrating the knowledge and or understanding yourself. This is a pretty basic requirement of any good teacher I think.
While technically you can have a conversation with Jeeney in any manner you like, there are a few things you should be aware of. Jeeney is designed and intended to be a student rather than an all-knowing something or other. The chat A.I. is not a turing machine, a human wanna-be or some kind of hollywood A.I. somebody saw on TV. The artificial intelligence disregards all forms of slang, short hand and internetese by intention to keep the resulting conversations understandable for anybody with a general grasp of English.
If you are trying to teach Jeeney stuff, it's important that all of your sentences contain the full context of any and all relative data rather than starting and ending with ambiguous words like "he" or "it" to provide better context relation. Sentence length should be short and to the point. Adult conversations inappropriate for children will be deleted and all traces of the user will be wiped clean. While you may be inclined to tell Jeeney your life story, measures are taken to ensure she isn't repeating people's personal details... so don't expect her to remember any of it. :P
